Kathleen has been baking and enjoying decadent desserts for a long, long, time.  Kathleen began baking at 10 years old in 4-H, but it has always been in her genes.  Her grandmother was an avid baker and her great-great-grandfather was a baker in England before opening his own shop in the United States.  She still uses several of his recipes.  She trained at French bakery in St. Louis under the direction of French pastry chefs and continues to follow this European tradition. 

Kathleen opened Sweet Pockets ten years ago after moving to New Bern, NC.  She continues to use the freshest ingredients in her from-scratch recipes in cookies, cakes, pies, candies, and other specialty desserts.  Eastern North Carolinians seek out Kathleen's sweet pockets for special occasions, holidays, and just because!
